  20. Even if your sources are making up stories, there are a few things that
  21. Viscorp should clear up ASAP.  They only say they are supporting A1200,
  22. A4000 and Power PC projects.  Nothing was explicit said about the Walker.
  23. IMHO the Walker is the right step to better Amigas.  I might even buy one
  24. in motherboard form as soon as it comes out.  IF all else fail, I would
  25. get myself a Be Box.  The direction they are heading makes a lot more sense.

  29. It sort of make sense as their market is towards set top boxes.  There are a
  30. few things that they probably want out of this deal with Escom.

  32.   a) Secure and control all the patents they needed to make their product.

  34.      This is only part why I can see the reason for $40 millions dollars
  35.      figure.  They can kill off others that might need some of these patents.

  37.   b) Secure the OS and chipset.

  39.      As AT is moving towards using standard SVGA (IMHO is better), there
  40.      are no reasons (engineering & economic) to improve the chipset for the
  41.      computer market.  Products like the DRACO and numerous 3rd party graphics
  42.      boards out there show that it can be done and work great.

  57. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to switch to those CPU-32 cores if they
  58. are building set top boxes.  The standard CPU line needs a lot of other
  59. things to make it work.

  66. others have bought out these questions to ask before that happens.  I hope
  67. someone at Viscorp would serious address them.
